Sticky Binoculars

Good Afternoon .....,

Thank You for your email,

Unfortunately, this is a known fault with older pairs of Binoculars.  We took over the Praktica brand in 2015 and have been made aware of this issue with units made prior to that date. It appears to be a breakdown of the rubber body of the Binoculars after a certain length of time, which is very disappointing.  Following some research we have found that cleaning the binoculars with either cleaning alcohol, WD40 or simply warm water and soap, can solve the problem so I would recommend this be your first course of action.  Make sure to test on an inconspicuous area first using a damp cloth, and be careful not to get any on the lens or eyepiece.

If this doesn’t solve the problem, we can offer you a 20% discount on any of our new Praktica Binoculars as an apology.  We have never encountered this issue with any of the units which we have produced since taking ownership of the brand and they would mark a significant improvement in optical quality from your current units.

I hope this helps and if you are having any other issues then please let me know,

Kind Regards,

Jack
